Rangpur,
Apr 18 (UNB) - Some 75,235 expecting mothers and 2,79,899 children
were immunized under the Expanded Program of Immunization (EPI) in
eight thanas and one municipality of the district last year.
Officials
said Tetanus Toxoid (TT) vaccines were given to 75,235 mothers, BCG to
71,933 children, DPT injection to 69,638 children, polio drops to
69,237 children and measles vaccines to 69,091 children during the
period.
A
total of 2,072 immunization centers were set up in the thanas and
Rangpur pourashava to conduct the immunization drive while 2,271 men
engaged for implementation of the programme.
Meanwhile,
some 83,533 pregnant mothers and 2,41,936 children in the district
have been brought under the program for this year.
