Satkhira, Jan 25 (UNB) - A minor boy trafficked to India where a doctor removed one of his kidneys is now lying ill in custody of Satkhira police.
Aged about 10 years the boy gave his name as Mahbub and his father’s as Huda. He cannot give details of his home except that it is in Bogra district.
Fallen ill following the inhuman action on him by the Indian doctor, Mahbub was pushed back through the Kaliganj border in a bad condition on Wednesday morning. From Kaliganj he boarded a Satkhira-bound bus in the same evening without knowing his destination.
Finding the boy weeping in severe pain Bipul Mia, Manager of Sonali Paribahan, took Mahbub to Satkhira police and handed over to them in presence of human rights activists.
Police today (Thursday) produced the boy before the court that gave him to their (police) custody for safety.
Mahbub told UNB correspondent that about a month ago some unknown people at Benapole land port lured him to accompany them. They took him across the border. There a doctor operated upon him and removed one of his kidneys two weeks ago.
Showing the heavily infected place of operation in the abdomen, Mahbub complained of serious pain.
Dark complexion, wearing full pant and shirt and jacket, the boy talks of his ‘nani (grand mother) and close relatives. But he cannot name the places of his home except that it is in Bogra district.
Police are trying to locate his relatives for returning Mahbub to them.
