Apr 19 (UNB)- Work on five Ashrayon projects is progressing here under
Food-for-Work programme of the government.
District
Relief and Rehabilitation Office sources said, 763 metric tons of
wheat was being used for the purpose under special allocations.
The
works include, digging of ponds, earth filling, and construction of
dam for the projects.
The
barrack type houses were being constructed at Jagannathpur of
Balaichar union, Munshirchar of Char Mucharia union in Sadar thana,
Bekikura and Sapnai in Nalitabari thana and at Kanduli in Jhenigati
thana to provide shelter to the homeless people of the district.
After
the completion of the projects, 135 distressed and homeless families
will have shelters.
