Sirajganj,
May 20 (UNB) – A Tk 8.21-crore project to repair a groin to protect
parts of the district town from the erosion of Jamuna is nearing
completion.
The
project funded by the government and World Bank was undertaken last
year to save the northern parts of poura area and Khoksabari union of
sadar upazila.
Water
Development Board sources said 65 per cent of project work has been
done already and the rest will be completed before next rainy season.
Under
the supervision of the Board four contractors are repairing the groin
by placing stones and CC blocks at the vulnerable point of the dam.
