Sunamganj,
Apr 26 (UNB)- An age-old tree fallen in the storm has been sold in
auction at Tk 1.01 lakh that created an enthusiasm among the people to
plant trees.
Known
as rain tree, it was grown in front of Jubilee high school in
Sunamganj town.
The
tree was uprooted in the storm that swept over the area on April 10.
Some 50 people took part in the auction held on April 17. The highest
bidder, Mainul Islam of Chhatak, got it.
The
headmaster of the high school estimated the age of the tree at around
60 years.
