May 25 (UNB) – An Officer-in-Charge and a sipoy of GRP have been
closed for their alleged involvement with a group of people in
black-marketing tickets at Sylhet Rail station.
Inspector
Mobarak Ali of Akhaura Circle GRP closed OC Abdul Jalil and sipoy
Nurunnabi after investigation on the cause for damage of the rail
station on Saturday.
He
also warned two other sipoys –- Shorafat Ali and Bimol -- in this
regard.
Police
said the Station Master caught one ticket black marketer Shafiq red
handed on Saturday but his associates snatched him from the hand of
police attacking the station.
It
is alleged that the GRP police played a silent role when the group
snatched away Shafiq and damaged the station.
After
the incident, the Inspector investigated the cause for the damage of
the station and found the OC and the sipoy guilty.
Police
meanwhile arrested Shafiq, Mobarak and Selim after a case was filed
against eight people. Salauddin, Manju, Runu, Mota Shafique and Mora
Shafiq, other accused of the case, are in hide.
Mizanur
Rahman Mizan has been appointed new Officer-in-Charge of GRP.
