Sylhet,
June 19 (UNB) – The 25-km Jakiganj-Laxmibazar-Biyanibazar road is
nearing completion, flickering a ray of hope among the locals.
Local
Government Engineering Department took up the project under World Food
Programme in 1995.
Official
sources said 1400 metric tons of wheat have so far been spent for the
project and 28 bridges and culverts constructed on the road at a cost
of Tk 10 crore.
Upon
completion of the road, it is expected that travel-distance between
Jakiganj and Biyanibazar would be reduced by 50 kms.
