June 3 (UNB) – The government has allocated Tk 5 crore for the
construction of an academic building for the Sylhet MC College and for
the repair of the college hostel.
Work
for the repair of the College hostel has already begun.
The
allocation is part of the Tk 10 crore earmarked for the implementation
of a development project for the College.
The
project was taken up after Speaker Humayun Rasheed Chowdhury and
Education Minister ASHK Sadique inspected the College last year.
As
part of the allocation, Tk 3 crore has been sanctioned for the
construction of a multi-storied academic building and Tk 2 crore for
the repair of the only hostel of the College.
College
sources said the construction of the building would begin soon.
