Tangail, Jan 3 (UNB)- As part of countrywide Programme Tk 4.18 lakh was distributed among the insolvent freedom fighters of Gopalpur and Bhuapur upazilas of the district.
Establishment Affairs Advisor to the Prime Minister Khandakar Asaduzzaman MP handed over the money to 103 distressed freedom fighters of Gopalpur and 129 of Bhuapur recently.
The present government has introduced the allowance for the insolvent FFs from July this year at the rate of Tk 300 per head per month.
Besides, he also distributed saree, lungi, shirts and warm clothes among the poor people of the two upazilas, said an official handout.
