Thakurgaon, Feb 28 (UNB) – A three-month long adult
education programme introduced by Rural Poverty Alleviation Foundation began here on Saturday.
The programme was simultaneously inaugurated at 15 centres of Sadar upazila on the day. Officials of the Foundation and local newsmen were present on the occasion.
An official of the Foundation said they have brought 375 adults of their own Samity under the literacy programme.
It may be mentioned here that the Foundation started its activities from April 30 last year.
The Foundation had disbursed loans worth Tk 4.49 crore among its 9,478 Samity members of the district and Panchagarh during the last 10 months. Realization rate is 98 per cent, said the sources.
