Chittagong, May 7 (UNB) – The Price Index at the Chittagong Stock Exchange marked a slight fall today (Sunday) as the losers outnumbered the gainers. All Share Price Index at the country’s second bourse shed 1.13 points or 0.10 percent to close at 1086.30 points from Saturday’s 1087.43 points. Of the 62 listed securities traded today, 25 gained, 29 declined and eight remained unchanged. Some 393,595 shares and debentures valued at Tk 2.13 crore were transacted as against 404,425 shares worth at Tk 1.8 crore on the previous day. Rahima Food Corporation (49,900), Imam Button Industries (40,450), Shine Pukur Holdings (40,200) and Dynamic Textile Industries (24,700) were among the volume leaders. Major gainers included Janata Insurance Company (+Tk 23.25), Confidence Cement (+Tk 9.75), Ctg Cement Clinker (+Tk 8.25) and Rupali Insurance (+Tk 8.00). Meghna Vegetable Oil Industries (-Tk 21.00), Bangladesh Lamps (-Tk 20.00) and Samarita Hospital (-Tk 3.50) were among the major losers. Market capitalisation stood at Tk 40.10 billion as against Tk 40.14 billion on Saturday. |
