Chittagong, May 8 (UNB)- Board of Directors of the Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industries meeting today elected Saifuzzaman Chowdhury Javed as its president.
The meeting presided over by senior director MA Malek at the Chamber also elected SM Nurul Haq as senior vice-president and MA Latif as vice-president.
Nineteen directors out of 24 were present in the meeting.
No elections of CCCI were held in the last three years due to a court injunction upon a case on new membership of the chamber two years back.
Board of directors meeting on March 14 adopted no-confidence resolution against CCCI president Kamal Uddin and voted Saifuzzaman Chowdhury Javed as senior vice-president.
The High court has recently directed CCCI to call general meeting to hold annual meeting and election according to its constitution.
Javed was made president of the chamber till a new president is elected in the next general meeting.
