Dhaka (UNB) – Upswing at the Dhaka Stock Exchange continued yesterday (Sunday) with its benchmark index jumping by further 82.02 points, the biggest leap since 1996 share market scam. The DSE All Share Price Index rose by 12.36 percent to close at 745.48 points from Saturday’s 663.46 points. The market barometer also jumped by 40 points on that day. Of the 185 listed securities traded yesterday, 176 advanced, seven declined and two remained unchanged. Some 22,689,476 shares and debentures worth Tk 57.95 crore changed hands yesterday as against 15,903,254 shares and debentures valued at Tk 47.34 crore on the previous trading day. AIMS First Mutual Fund (12,305,000), Chic Tex (1,601,500), Beximco Pharma (1,031,150), BD Welding (830,000) and Quasem Dry Cells (779,900) were among the volume leaders. Market capitalisation stood at Tk 70.58 billion as against Tk 62.81 billion on Saturday. |
