ECNEC approve 6 projects |

Dhaka (UNB)- The Executive Committee of National Economic Council yesterday approved six development projects involving Tk 825.41 crore that includes Tk 333.58 crore in project aid. An official release said the approval was given in a meeting chaired by ECNEC’s alternative chairman Shah AMS Kibria at the NEC auditorium. The projects include setting up an eco-park at Muraichhara waterfalls at Madhabkunda, afforestation of hills in Ramgaj-Sitakunda areas (1st phase), setting up 10 higher secondary model schools in Dhaka city, Female Secondary School Assistance Project (FSSAP- 2nd amendment), rehabilitation of WDB projects damaged by 1998 floods and Bangabandhu Bridge Approach Road Gas Pipeline Project. Two projects—construction of SM Sultan Memorial Hall and Kurigram Poverty Eradication Project, earlier approved by State Minister for Planning Dr Mohiuddin Khan Alamgir, were also placed for ECNEC consideration. Education Minister ASHK Sadique, Water Resources Minister Abdur Razzak, Agriculture Minister Motia Chowdhury, Commerce Minister MA Jalil, Science and Technology Minister Nuruddin Khan, Environment Minister Sajeda Chowdhury, State Minister for Planning Dr Mohiuddin Khan Alamgir and State Minister for Energy Prof Rafiqul Islam attended the meeting. |
