Chittagong (UNB)- The main index at Chittagong Stock Exchange continued to show a upward spiral for the second straight day yesterday with the gainers dominating the losers. All Share Price Index at the country's second bourse gained 46.64 points or 3.12 percent to close at 1539.77 points from Tuesday's 1493.13 points. Of the 82 listed securities traded yesterday, 61 gained, 19 declined and two remained unchanged. Some 7,978,872 shares and debentures worth Tk 15.30 crore changed hands as against 7,755,285 shares valued at Tk 16.89 crore on the previous day. Aims First Guaranteed (4,342,500), Fu-wang Foods (1,010,000), Chic Textile (823,000), Beximco Pharma (690,300), Quasem Drycells (349,700), Shine Pukur (217,450), and BD Welding (122,500) were among the volume leaders. Market capitalisation stood at Tk 57.73 billion from Tk 56.07 billion on Tuesday. |
