Malaysian entrepreneurs eager to invest |

Dhaka (UNB) - Impressed by bright prospects of investment in Bangladesh Malaysian entrepreneurs showed keen interest in relocating its sunset industries. They however called for ensuring political stability, elimination of bureaucratic tangles, developing infrastructure, modernise port and expansion of facilities, improving telecommunication and power supply. A group of representatives of Malaysian companies meeting with executive chairman of Board of Investment Mokammel Haq here today discussed about their investment. The representatives said they found bright prospect of relocating Malaysian sunset industries of textile, leather and leather goods to Bangladesh. Malaysia is the second investor country in Bangladesh with 34 projects registered directly or under joint venture, having a total proposed investment of US$ 1.32 billion, said a press release. It said total investment increased 2.3 times during the last four years. The number of registered projects increased 1.5 times during this period.
