Chittagong (UNB) – Day’s trading at Chittagong Stock Exchange finished higher yesterday (Saturday) with the gainers outnumbering the losers. The All Share Price Index at the country’s second bourse rose by 8.82 points or 0.62 percent to close at 1419.84 from Thursday’s 1411.02 points. Of the 70 listed securities traded yesterday, 41 gained, 24 declined and five remained unchanged. Some 1,218,995 shares and debentures valued at Tk 4.55 crore were transacted as against 819,440 shares worth at Tk 2.24 crore on the previous day. Quasem Dry Cell (374,250), Rangpur Foundry (155,000), AIMS First Guaranteed (122,500) Beximco Pharmaceuticals (116,150) and Fu-Wang Foods (110,000) were among the volume leaders. Market capitalisation stood at Tk 53.67 billion from Thursday’s Tk 53.37 billion. |
