Dhaka-- (UNB)- Bangladesh made their lowest ever total to suffer a shameful 10-wicket defeat against South Africa President's XI in their second limited over match in Pietermaritzburg yesterday. The 10th member of the elite club of cricket, who conceded a 7-wicket defeat in the first match, were dismissed by 51 runs playing only 18.3 overs after sent to bat first by the home side. A five-wicket haul by C Langeuelot destroyed the tourists on a wet pitch following heavy rain on Saturday which forced the organisers to defer the match for yesterday (Sunday). Bangladesh after getting one-day status in 1997 scored their lowest ODI total of 85 runs in the 7th Asia Cup in Dhaka against Pakistan, who were upset by Bangladesh in the last World Cup. One down Habibul Bashar Sumon was the only batsman of Bangladesh side who reached double digit making 11 runs off 19 balls. The highest score of the innings was 12 from extras. The poor scoring line of Bangladesh was: Al Shahriar Rokon 7, Aminul Islam Bulbul 6, Akram Khan 9, captain Naimur Rahman Durjoy 5 and Khaled Masud Pilot 1. The rest five batsmen were out for duck. C Langeuelot was the main wrecker of the Bangladesh innings claiming five wickets while C Willoughey and J Kemp picked up two wickets each. N Ngam took another wicket. In reply, South Africa President's XI played only 12 overs to reach the easy target making 53 runs with all wickets in hand.
