Dhaka-- (UNB) - Indian skipper Saurav Ganguly said he was happy to win his maiden test as captain against debutante Bangladesh, but was not excited as he was sure about it. "I am satisfied to win my first test as captain but you have to see against whom we have won," Saurav told newsmen after winning the test match against Bangladesh by nine wickets here yesterday. "I was confident of the win. I was not worried about it. Because we knew their (Bangladesh) bowling strength… I thought the match will be of five days," the prince of Calcutta added. The Indian skipper said the important thing for them was to get the lead in the first innings. "I wanted to overtake Bangladesh's score to take certain amount of lead, because we knew that wicket will turn on the 4th day." Saurav said his team has four pacers and three quality spinners and he will like to make overseas tours with this squad plus Anil Kumble. About Bangladesh, Saurav said, they have to improve their batting performance. "I think they will do it as they batted well, but their bowling is very week, they have no good fast bowler." For playing test match, they need fast bowlers and also have to get prepared for hard wicket. |
