Dhaka-- (UNB) - As the first round of National Immunisation Days will be held today (Wednesday), national cricket starts will visit different polio booths in the city to add colour to the campaign against polio.


National captain Naimur Rahman Durjoy, vice captain Khaled Masud Pilot, former captains Aminul Islam Bulbul and Akram Khan and batsman Habibul Bashar Sumon will join the programme to encourage the cricket fans and their families to immunise their children under five years of age.


Bangladesh Cricket Board has organised the initiative to help developing greater community awareness and free the children of the country from the crippling polio disease.


All children under five years old, rich or poor, sick or healthy, living in the streets or building, those were vaccinated before and were not vaccinated must be administered with polio vaccine on November 15 and December 17.


Team captain Durjoy will visit the booths in Khilgaon with BCB President, UNICEF and WHO representatives while Vice Captain Pilot in Mirpur area with a WHO official.


Former captain Bulbul will visit the booths in Lalbagh area, Akram Khan in Kathalbagan and Sumon in Mohakhali and Tejgaon areas, said a UNICEF press release yesterday (Tuesday).
