Savar--(UNB) – Jahangirnagar University became champion in the inter-university cricket championship beating Chittagong University by 114 runs in the final yesterday (Sunday). Batting first, Jahangirnagar University scored 216 runs for six wickets in the stipulated 40 overs at the university playground. In reply, Chittagong University managed to score 102 in 35 overs. Sabbir of Jahangirnagar University was adjudged man of the match for his all round performance. He scored the match highest 55 runs and bagged three wickets. JU Vice Chancellor Prof M Abdul Bayes witnessed the final match and distributed prizes among the players. Brief score: JU 216/6 (40 overs), Sabbir 55, Chayan 44 and Firoj 43 runs. Azad 2/34.
