Dhaka--(UNB)- Holders Chittagong Division and league leader Bangladesh Biman made flying start on the first day of the three-day Green Delta National Cricket League at different venues yesterday (Saturday).


Chittagong Division, which bagged eight points from first two rounds, opened their third round campaign scoring a huge 344 runs for 7 in stipulated 100 overs against Dhaka Division at the close of day one at the Mymensingh Stadium.


Promising national cricketer Ehsanul Haq Seezan of Chittagong hit a patient 96 runs off 180 balls in 225 minutes featuring 12 boundaries.


His senior national teammate Enamul Haq Moni played an eye catching innings of unbeaten 75 runs off just 85 balls in 100 minutes hitting eleven fours.


Opener Azam Iqbal (61), teen-age opener Nafis Iqbal (26), skipper Minhazul Abedin Nannu (31), national hard hitting batsman Akram Khan (19) and wicket keeper Golam Mortuza (13) were other notable scorers for Chittgong.


Biplob Sarkar Billu was the most successful Dhaka Division bowler go capture four wickets for 69 runs in 19 overs inclusing three maidens while Rashedul Haq, Fahim Muntasir Sumit and Mosaddek Hossain took one wicket apiece.


At the BKSP ground in Savar, the national airlines team Bangladesh, which dominated the Group A having 12 points from first two legs, piled up a massive 379 for 5 in 92 overs against Rajshahi Division at the end of the day.


Biman’s Pakistani opener Imran Farhad, who made a double century against holders Chittagong in the first round, yesterday played a hurricane innings of 97 runs off 92 balls in 138 minutes hitting 14 fours and three sixes.


National cricketer Hasanuzzaman was batting with 92 runs in 148 balls in 183 minutes with 11 fours and a sixer.


Former national cricketer Sanwar Hossain (44), former national skipper Aminul Islam Bulbul (28), national opener Javed omar (13) and Ziaur Rashid (13) were the other major contributors for Biman.


Mustadir Litu and Nuruzzaman of Rahshahi Division claimed two wickets each giving away 77 and 109 runs respectively.
