Australian Commonwealth Bank to play against BCB Under-21 today |

Dhaka-- (UNB) – Visiting Commonwealth Bank Cricket Academy team of Australia will start their Bangladesh campaign today (Sunday) with a three-day match against BCB Under-21 at the BKSP in Savar. A 15-member youthful team from the famous Australian cricket Academy, which arrived in the capital last night on a three-week Bangladesh tour, made their practices at the Bangabandhu National Stadium this afternoon. The team is expected to move for games venue BKSP today (Sunday) morning. Upcoming off spinner cum lower order batsman Shabbir Khan of Chittagong Division will lead the BCB Under-21 team while Nathan Hauritz of Queensland will captain the touring side. The team from the famous Australian cricket academy, run by legendary wicket keeper Rodney Marsh, will play two three-day matches, one four-dayer and four one-day matches during their tour. The Australian team will play their second three-day match against BCB President XI in the country’s northern city of Rajshahi from Jan 12-14 and a one-dayer with the same team there Jan 15. The visiting team will play one four-day match in Dhaka from Jan 17-20 and three one-day matches (day-night) on Jan 22, 23 and 25 before leaving for Australia on Jan 26. The Australian team are: Captain- Nathan Hauritz (Queensland), Vice Captain- Luke Williams (South Australia), Chris Hartley (Queensland), Aaron O’Brien (New South Wales), Shane Stanton (New South Wales), Andrew MacDonald (Victoria), Tim Welsford (Victoria), Daniel Harris (South Australia), Adam Voges (Western Australia), Shaun Marsh (Western Australia), Sumit Panda and G Chaitra (Indian). Officials: Manager cup Coach- Wayne Phillips, Physio - Max Pfitzner. BCB Under-21 team are : Shabbir Khan (Captain), Nafiz Iqbal Khan, Nahidul Haque, Mohammad Ashraful, Sajjadaul Hassan Shetu, Mohammad Kalim, Mazharul Haq Mridul, Mohammad Salim (wickets-keeper), Mohammad Sharif, Manjurul Islam Rana, Bikash Ranjan Das, Tariqul Islam Tushar, Tapas Kumar Baisha and Tushar Imran.
