Dhaka-- (UNB) – Visiting Commonwealth Bank Cricket Academy team of Australia threw a challenge to BCB Under-21 declaring their first innings at 273 runs for 4 on the first day of a three-day match at the BKSP in Savar yesterday (Sunday).


Shaun Marsh, son of former Australian legendary wicket keeper Rodney Marsh, led the tourists to reach the formidable total making unbeaten 106 runs off 202 balls featuring 12 fours and a six.


Bangladesh Cricket Board Under-21 under the leadership of Sabbir Khan finished the day without any damage making 23 runs in 4 overs with SH Setu and Mohammad Ashraful batting on 16 and 4 runs respectively.


Famous Australian Cricket Academy lost two early wickets on 47 runs after deciding to bat first but a 167-run third wicket association between Shaun Marsh and Shane Stanton denied any further chance to local boys.


One down Shane Stanton made 88 runs off 179 deliveries with 13 hits across the rope. Opener Daniel Harris was another notable scorer making 25 runs off 28 balls.


Left-arm national pacer Bikas Ranjan Das, Mohammad Sharif, Taposh Kumar and captain Sabbir Khan took one wicket each.
