Australian High Commission’s reception to Aussie team |

Dhaka-- (UNB) – The Australian High Commission to Bangladesh accorded a reception to the touring Commonwealth Bank Cricket Academy team of Australia at the High Commission recreation center at Gulshan last (Tuesday) evening. Australian High Commissioner Robert Flynn presented a welcome speech while captain of the visiting side Nathan Hauritz also addressed the function. Deputy Minister for LGRD and the BCB President Saber Hossain Chowdhury MP, First Secretary (Consular and Administration) of the Australian High Commission Andrew Tyler, BCB General Secretary Syed Ashraful Haq, BCB Joint Secretary Mahmudul Haq Manu were present on the occasion. Members of the Australian Academy team led by former test cricketer and team manager Wayne Phillips and the cricketers of the BCB Under-21 team, which played the first three-day match with tourists, also attended function. The famous Australian Cricket Academy team arrived in the capital on Jan 5 on a three-week visit to Bangladesh to play two three-dayers, one four-dayer and four one-day matches with local selections. The touring team drew their first three-day match against BCB Under-21 team that concluded yesterday (Tuesday) at the BKSP ground in Savar. |
