BCB President XI declare the first innings at 281 |

Dhaka, Jan 12 (UNB) - An unbeaten century by Mushfiqur Rahman Babu helped BCB President XI to declare their first innings at 281 for 7 against touring CBCA of Australia on the first day of the three-day match at the Rajshahi Stadium today (Friday). In reply, the Commonwealth Bank Cricket Academy (CBCA) scored 11 runs without loss in 11 overs at stumps. Daniel Harris and Luke Williams were batting with 4 and 3 runs respectively. BCB President XI Captain Khaled Masud Pilot, who hails from Rajshahi, decided to bat first after winning the toss at his home ground. But the home side soon fell into trouble losing five top order batsmen for 90 runs. However, Mushfiqur Rahman Babu and Anisur Rahman Sanchoy changed the scenario contributing 134 runs in the sixth wicket stand. National all rounder Babu hit 13 boundaries in his unbeaten 100 runs facing 186 balls while Sanchoy hammered 83 runs off 89 deliveries with 14 fours and a six. Number eight batsman Fahim Muntasir Sumit was another notable scorer making 34 off 46 balls with seven hits across the rope while national opener Shahriar Hossain Bidyut added 30 runs off 63 balls with four boundaries. Aaron O’Brien, who caused early damage to the home side, finished as the most successful bowler for the visitors claiming four wickets for 68 runs while Andrew MacDonald took two for 41 runs.
