Dhaka-- (UNB) – Touring Australian boys firmly replied against BCB President’s XI creating a chance of winning the three-day match at the end of the second day at the Rajshahi Stadium yesterday (Saturday).


Riding on a 95-run knock by Shaun Marsh, the Commonwealth Bank Cricket Academy of Australia declared their first innings scoring 313 runs for 7 in 90.1 overs to take 32 runs first innings lead over the local boys.


The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President’s XI, who declared their first innings for 281 for 7, fell into a trouble in their second innings losing two wickets for only 7 runs in 8 overs at stumps yesterday.


G Chaitra caused the damage to the homeside dismissing national opener Shahriar Hossain Bidyut (3) and Rafiqul Islam (3) without conceding any run in his 4-over spell.


Mossadeq Hossain and Rajin Saleh were on the crease but none of them opened their accounts.


Earlier, a brilliant top order batting helped the visitors to declare their first innings for 313 runs for 7 in 90.1 overs resuming with the overnight score of 11 runs for no loss.


Shaun Marsh, son of legendary Australian wicket keeper Rodney Marsh, again showed his class to lead his team to a commanding position.


Marsh, who made an unbeaten ton in the first match, belted 17 fours and a six to make 95 runs facing 100 balls while number 5 batsman Andrew Kent contributed 53 runs off 60 balls with five fours and a six.


Opener Daniel Harris and one down Shane Stanton were the other notable scorers. Harris made 49 runs off 149 balls with 8 fours while Stanton added 46 off 104 balls with 5 boundaries and an over boundary.


Fahim Muntasir Sumit, century maker Mushfiqur Rahman Babu and Aminul Islam Bhola claimed two wickets each for the BCB President’s XI.
