Dhaka—(Bangla2000)--At BKSP, Pakistani Manzoor Akhter with his all round performance fueled Bangladesh Biman to taste a possible outright victory over Khulna Division yesterday, the third day of the four-day match. Khulna Division, at stumps yesterday, are still 44 runs behind Biman’s first innings as they lost four wickets on 143 runs in 58 overs in their second innings. Manzoor Akhter, who hit a magnificent 131-run knock in the first innings for the national flag careers’ team, damaged the Khulna second innings capturing all four wickets for 56 runs. Nahidul Haq Shaon and Sazzadul Hasan Setu made a good platform for Khulna Division associating 101 runs in the opening stand but after the dismissal of the pair Khulna lost three quick wickets. Shaon scored 61 runs off 93 balls with eight boundaries while Setu added 40 off 113 deliveries with five fours. Raju Parvez and Manjurul Islam Rana were batting with 24 and 15 runs respectively when the bails drawn for the day. Earlier, resuming with overnight score of 308 for 5, Bangladesh Biman scored 416 runs for all in 138 overs to take a huge 187-run first innings lead. Pakistani Manzoor Akhter resuming with 121 runs scored 131 runs off 242 balls with 15 boundaries while Sanwar Hossain, who started with 65, made 74 runs off 166 balls hitting four boundaries. Hasanuzzaman (36), Mukter Siddiqi (20) and Sharif (21) were the other notable scorers for Biman.
