Dhaka—(Bangla2000)-At the Comilla Stadium, a sizzling 107 runs by Al Shahriar Rokon enabled Dhaka Metropolis to take sweet revenge against holders Chittagong Division beating them by 75 runs in the one-day match of the National Cricket League yesterday.

Dhaka Metropolis, who swallowed a huge defeat in the four-day match against the same opponents, set a daunting task for holders scoring 275 runs for 9 in stipulated 50 overs.

One down national batsman Rokon hammered ten fours and three sixes for his 107 runs off 95 deliveries while captain Khaled Mahmud Sujon was the second highest scorer making 31 off 44 balls.

Earlier, Manjurul Islam Biplob and Mehrab Hossain Opee had a 60 runs association to give a good start to newcomers Dhaka Metropolis after called to bat first.

Biplob scored 22 runs off 35 balls with three fours while debonair national opener Opee made 30 off 40 deliveries that featured six boundaries.

Pakistani Shahed Mahmud and Sumon Barua captured three wickets each for 47 and 56 runs respectively.

Chasing the huge total, Chittagong Division were all out for 200 in 47.2 overs.

Most of the players of defending champions reached double figures, but failed to craft any fruitful partnership to reach the target.

One down Seezan was the top scorer for Chittagong with run a ball 28 while captain Minhajul Abedin Nannu scored 25 runs in as many balls.

National captain and off-spinner Naimur Rahman Durjoy was the most successful bowler for Metropolis claiming three wickets for 14 runs while Opee took two for 24 runs.
