Dhaka-- (UNB) – Khulna Division downed Bangladesh Biman by five wickets in the one-day match of the Green Delta National Cricket League at BKSP yesterday (Monday).

Despite the day’s defeat, title aspirants Biman finished top of the table with 38 points after the second round of the final phase. Khulna Division joined Dhaka Metropolis and holders Chittagong Division securing 36 points.

Tushar Imran and Asadullah Khan Biplob shaped the Khulna victory with a 104,run association in the fifth wicket stand to reach the target making 186 for 5 in 39.3 overs.

Tushar Imran scored 50 runs off 84 balls that featured four boundaries while Biplob remained unbeaten on 58 runs off 74 balls with three fours to be adjudged man of the match.

Opener Sajjadul Hasan Setu was the other notable scorer for Khulna making 30 off 46 deliveries with four hits across the rope.

Pacer Anwar Hossain took two wickets for 37 runs while Dulu, Sharif and Aminul Islam Bulbul captured one wicket each.

Earlier, Bangladesh Biman scored 184 runs for 7 wickets in fixed 42 overs after deciding to bat first.

Test cap Habibul Bashar Sumon scored team highest 53 runs off 57 balls with four boundaries while former national batsman Aminul Islam Bulbul, batting at number three, contributed 36 runs off 60 balls.

Pacer Manjurul Islam Manju was the most successful bowler for Khulna picking up two wickets for 26 runs.
