Dhaka-- (UNB) – A fine century by Javed Omar Belim Gullu enabled league leaders Bangladesh Biman to amass 263 runs for 3 in 105 overs against Dhaka Metropolis team on the first day of the four-day Green Delta National Cricket League at the BKSP ground in Savar yesterday (Wednesday).

Biman made the formidable total after they were asked to bat first by former national vice-captain and Dhaka Metropolis skipper Khaled Mahmud Sujon who won the toss.

Gullu played a patient innings of 102 runs off 259 balls in 311 minutes that featured 15 boundaries before caught by Anwar off a Khaled Mahmud delivery with team total showing 222 for 3 in 86.1 overs.

Skipper Faruk, who opened the Biman innings with Gullu, contributed 68 runs off 147 balls with ten fours and two sixes before he was bowled by national captain Naimur Rahman Durjoy at 133 for one in 47.4 overs.

Earlier, batting at number three, usually reliable national batsman Habibul Bashar Sumon returned to the pavilion cheaply with just one run when team score was 139 for 2 in 52 overs.
