Jessore’s victory over Habiganj in National Youth Cricket |

Dhaka-- (UNB) - Jessore DSA earned a comfortable six-wicket victory over Habiganj DSA in the final round of the 20th National Youth Cricket Championship at Thakurgaon yesterday (Saturday). Opted to bat first, Habiganj were bundled out for paltry 117 runs in 46 overs. Three top order batsmen of Habiganj DSA returned to the pavilion falling victim of run out. Rintu scored 22 runs off 20 balls with two fours and a six while Rumen added 19 off 51 deliveries with two boundaries. Turja and Kaushik claimed two wickets each for 27 and 20 runs respectively while Amirul, Alam and Masud took one wicket each. In reply, Jessore easily reached the target making 120 runs for 4 wickets in 28 overs with opener Russel making unbeaten 43 runs off 66 balls. Number five batsman Masud was another notable scorer making 41 off 48 deliveries with five hits to the fence. Sohel, Bidhan, James and Sumon captured one wicket each. |
