Pakistan speedster Waqar Younis claimed his 300th wicket in one-day internationals yesterday against South Africa in the Sharjah Cup.
Waqar, playing in his 186th match, became only the second bowler in history of the limited version of the game to reach the milestone when he trapped Neil Mckenzia leg before.
His teammate Wasim Akram, who has in fact over 400 wickets, is the other bowler to have crossed the mark.
Indian leg-spinner Anil Kumble is third on the all-time list of leading wicket-takers with 263 scalps.
