8, 2000 Pakistan’s
Wasim Akram and West Indian Brian Lara will lead the Asian eleven and Rest
of the World eleven respectively in the commemorational match of the
international Cricket Council (ICC) to be held at the Bangabandhu National
Stadium in city on April 8, report BSS
ICC
organized the match as part of its cricket week celebration from April 2
to 9. ICC
president Jogmohan Dalmiya announced the teams, selected by a five-member
panel, formally in New Delhi Tuesday, a press release of Bangladesh
Cricket board (BCB) said in city Tuesday.
Sri
Lanka captain Sanath Jayasuriya and Australian Mark Waugh were appointed
vice captains to the Asian and Rest of the World Player’s
list

government, in an interministerial meeting last week, decided to extend
all-out support in hosting the match in Dhaka as the match would enhance
the country’s image across the world.

Television will telecast day and night match live from stadium.
ICC
has taken an elaborate program including the April 8 match in Bangladesh
and a tournament for emerging cricket week to promote global interest in
the game
