Apr 18 (UNB)- Mohammedan SC completed their first round campaign of the
Janakantha Premier Division Cricket League with a massive 140-run victory
over Sadharan Bima here today (Tuesday). Sri
Lankan Shamaraweera shaped the Motijheel outfit’s huge win hitting a
scintillating ton at the Bangabandhu National Stadium. After
the day’s win, Mohammedan Sporting Club raised their tally to 14 points
from eleven matches while Sadharan Bima suffered fifth defeat in the same
number of outings. Mohammedan
made a towering 321 runs for four wickets in stipulated 50 overs riding on
a mammoth 186-run second wicket partnership between Shamaraweera and
Nasirul Alam Nahid. Sent
in to bat first, Shamaraweera and Imran Hamid Partho made a flying start
scoring 45 runs in 7.2 overs. Partho was the first victim being bowled by
Moin making 24 runs off 18 balls with five fours. Shamaraweera
hammered 127 runs off 126 balls that featured 14 boundaries and one over
boundary while Nahid contributed 74 runs off 115 balls with four hits
across the rope. The
Sri Lankan batsman played 106 balls to reach the league’s 15th
century belting eleven boundaries and one over boundary. He completed his
half-century facing 70 balls. Hasan
Tillekeratne and Mohammed Rafique showed fierce batting performance adding
47 runs from last 20 deliveries setting a daunting task for the opposition
