A magnificent all-round performance from Indian Kamol Chopra guided Sadhran Bima Krira Sangstha to a five-wicket win over Victoria Sporting Club in third Janakantha Premier Division League match at the Dhanmondi Cricket Stadium yesterday.
Kamol took four wickets in the morning session to get Victoria all out for 227 in 49.1 overs. the Delhi based middle order then shared an unbeaten 116-run sixth wicket partnership with compatriot Tariqur Rahman to help his side recover from an early colas and reach home in 43.1 overs. Both Kamol and Tariq were not out on the identical score of 65.
Coming to bat at number seven with Bima on 112 for 5, Kamol played an exciting innings of 49 balls with two sixes and six fours and ensured Bima cruise with out any further loss. He was ably supported by tariq who faced 83 balls for his knock that included five fours.
Earlier, put into bat, Victoria were off to a flying start with a 104-run opening partnership between Sajjad Ahmed and Pakistani Fahad Khan.
Fahad hit 77 off 90 balls with two over-boundaries and ten fours while Sajjad contributed 38.
after the stand was broken in the 21st over, Bima added another 123 runs to their credit before being all out.
Kamol, who ripped through the Victoria lower order, returned with four for 35 from 8.1 overs.
Among others, his compatriot Rajinder Singh and medium pacer Tashriqul Islam took two wickets apiece.
Bima, with yesterday's win, earned six points for 8 matches while Victoria, with their seventh defeat in eight matches, remained glued to their previous collection of only two points.
