May 20 (UNB) - Mymensingh Zilla School and BKSP moved into the semi-final
of the final round of the 18th ANZ Grindlays Bank National
School Cricket Championship here today (Saturday). Mymensingh
Zilla School confirmed their semi-final berth beating Comilla Zilla School
by three wickets in a nail-biting match at the local stadium. Comilla
Zilla School scored 112 runs for all in 29.3 overs after deciding to bat
first in the moist field following overnight rain. Sujon
made 25 and Emon 24 runs. Rana destroyed the opposition batting line-up
picking up four wickets for 10 runs while Sunny took three for 21 runs. In
reply, local team reached the target making 114 runs for seven wickets in
25.1 overs with Arafat adding unbeaten 43 runs. Rubel took two wickets
conceding 26 runs. BKSP
reached the semi-final with a massive nine-wicket win against Tangail
Islami Boys High School also at the circuit house ground. Tangail
Islami Boys High School scored a paltry 61-run in 22.2 overs after
deciding to bat first. Sanjoy was the only batsman who reached the double
digit making 15 runs. Sharif
and Mithun bagged three wickets each for 11 and 12 runs. In
reply, BKSP reached the target making 65 runs in 12.5 overs with Kafi
adding highest 33 and Hasibul not out 19 runs.
