Dhaka, May 22 (UNB) – The members of the Bangladesh Cricket Board have given a positive indication about reconstitution of the country’s cricket. Bangladesh Cricket Board president Saber Hossain said the members had a productive meeting today (Monday), and they took unanimous decision about appointment of a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the apex body, the first step towards the planned restructuring. “We are discussing about CEO’s terms of reference and responsibility”. The CEO will report to board and coordinate with different committees, the chief of the Cricket Board told after the meeting. The Chief Executive Officer will look after three areas - Finance & Accounts, Administration and Operation. “We have got a lot of applications and a final decision will come after the Asia Cup,“ he said. In the day’s meeting, Bangladesh Cricket Board formed a five-member committee headed by Kutubuddin Aksir to make recommendations for restructuring of the cricket. The other members of the committee are: Mahmudul Haq Manu, Dewan Shariful Arifin Tutul, M Nizam and Jalal Younus. The committee will submit its report in the general council of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on June 15. The day’s meeting also approved the constitution of Bangladesh Cricket Development Fund, which will now operate the cricket board web-site. BCB took another fruitful decision on announcing “BCB Award” for outstanding contribution for cricket. “Primarily this award will only for organizers but later the arena will be broadened,” Saber said. Meanwhile, Bangladesh will take part in the Under-17 and Under-15 Cricket Tournament, to be organized by Asian Cricket Council. Sailab Hossain Tutul was named as manager and Golam Faruque Sharu coach for under-17 tournament to be held in Pakistan in July next. Indian will not take part in the tournament.
