May 24, 2000 Dhaka (UNB)- The tickets of the 7th Pepsi Asia Cup Cricket goes for sale today from seven branches of Al Baraka Bank Limited. The branches are: VIP Road, Gulshan, Mirpur Road, Islampur, Kawranbazar, Agargaon IDB Building and Dilkusha in the city. The branches will also remain open on holidays (Friday and Saturday). The Dilkusha Branch will sell tickets for the VIP gallery, Club House (East), International Enclosure, Club Enclosure and Special Enclosure. Tickets for the East and West Gallery will be available at other branches. Meanwhile, the law and order committee meeting of Bangladesh Cricket Board was held at the BCB office yesterday (Tuesday) with its president Saber Hossain Chowdhury in the chair. The meeting discussed law and order issues for the forthcoming Pepsi Asia Cup specially emphasizing on the stadium gates where the organizers had faced a lot of problems earlier. “Overcrowding in the gates is not only a problem for the organizers, but also for the stadium which might suffer damage because of the crowd”, Saber told newsmen after the meeting. He said that it is not possible to introduce new system of checking tickets in this tournament, but the BCB is thinking about using punch machines on the tickets later.
