GALLE, Sri Lanka (AP) - Pakistan took a 419-run first innings lead and then claimed one Sri Lankan second innings wicket to get a commanding position at the end of third day's play of the second test match Friday.

     

The highlight of Pakistan's first innings score of 600 for eight declared was centuries by four batsmen, including Wasim Akram, who scored 100 off 89 balls with six sixes and eight boundaries.

     

Pakistan resumed at the overnight score of 341 for five and two not out batsmen, Younis Khan and Abdur Razzak, added 86 runs in the pre-lunch session without losing a wicket. Khan scored 116 off 281 balls and hit nine boundaries and one six.

    

A drizzle stopped play for 10 minutes before lunch.

     

Pakistan, already is one-up in the three-test series, declared the innings when Akram was out.

     

Sri Lanka's opening pair of Sanath Jayasuriya and Marvan Atapattu played cautiously, but Jayasuriya on 21 fell to Waqar Younis. At draw of stumps Atapattu was batting on 17 and Russel Arnold on 4 in Sri Lanka's total of 45 for one wicket.
