Cricket Board delegation meet President |

Dhaka (UNB) – A 13-member delegation of Bangladesh Cricket Board made a courtesy call on President Justice Shahabuddin Ahmed at Bangabhaban on Thursday.
The delegation members led by State Minister for Youth, Sports and Cultural Affairs Obaidul Quader apprised the President of the government initiatives for the development of sports, specially for popularizing cricket in the country.
They mentioned that Bangladesh just received test status and thereby became eligible for playing cricket tests and said Bangladesh has been included among the 10 test status countries of the world and 4th among the Asian countries.
The delegation also briefed the President about the structural development of cricket facilities in the country.
President Shahabuddin expressed his deep satisfaction that Bangladesh cricket is making noticeable development which needs fruitful backing from all quarters.
He thanked the BCB members for taking appropriate measures in this field and congratulated the cricket players for their sincere efforts in the cricket field at home and abroad.
Deputy Minister for LGRD and Cooperatives and President of BCB Saber Hossain Chowdhury and Secretary to the Prime Minister Muhammad Ismail Hossain were, among others, present on the occasion.
