(UNB) – Bangladesh juveniles completed their Asian Cricket Council (ACC)
Under-15 Cricket engagements with a massive 190-run victory over hosts
Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday. It
was the third consecutive win for the test babes in their sixth and last
league outings following their three successive defeats against test elite
India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. In
the previous two matches, Bangladesh earned a well-merited 10-wicket
victory over Hong Kong and recorded a huge 210-run victory over newcomer
Thailand. But
they had earlier conceded six-wicket defeat against India, three-wicket
losses against Sri Lanka and seven-wicket defeat against Pakistan. In
their last league match, Bangladesh batted first after winning the toss
and piled up a huge total of 248 runs for eight in the stipulated 40
overs, according to a delayed message received here by BCB from Kuala
Lumpur yesterday (Sunday). Number
five batsman Mahmud Ullah quickfired an unbeaten 62 runs off just 56 balls
and was adjudged man of the match.
Opener
Nafees Ahmed contributed 33 off 39 balls, two down Golam Rahman hit 23
runs in 31 deliveries and century maker opening batsman Hasibul Haq made
21 runs off 33 balls. Mohammad
Yusairy was the most successful Malaysian bowler who captured three
wickets giving away 38 runs in his eight-over spell. Replying
to the huge Bangladesh total, the home team were dismissed very cheaply
scoring only 58 runs in 28.2 overs. All rounder Yusairy was the lone
Malaysian batsman to reach the double digit with 15 runs. The team highest
16 runs came from extras. Arif
Hossain and Ibrahim Sagar took three Malaysian wickets each conceding 11
and 12 runs respectively. Brief
