Dhaka (UNB) - Bangladesh earned another facile 10-wicket victory over Kuwait to reach semi-final of the Asian Cricket Council Under-17 tournament at the United Bank Sports Complex in Karachi today (Friday). After the day’s outcome, Bangladesh finished runners–up in Pool A to play semi-final with test nation Sri Lanka tomorrow (Saturday). Host Pakistan will play United Arab Emirates in the other semis on Sunday. Winning the toss, Bangladesh sent Kuwait to bat first and bundled out them for 89 runs in 42.4 overs with one down Dilesh making 46 off 114 balls, including four boundaries. Bangladesh’s new ball bowler Talha Zubair claimed 4 wickets conceding 19 runs in 6.4 over with a maiden was adjudged man of the match. Shafiul Alam captured three wickets giving away 10 runs while Mohammad Asharaful two wickets for 18 runs. In reply, Bangladesh reached their target easily making 90 runs without losing any wicket in 19.4 overs with skipper Nafees Iqbal contributing unbeaten 54 runs off 69 balls that featured four boundaries. Mohammad Ashraful scored 13 runs off 51 balls, including 4 hit to the fences. Earlier in the group matches, Bangladesh beat Nepal by massive 143 runs, defeated Bahrain by 10 wickets and lost to Pakistan by 1 wicket. |
