Dhaka (UNB) – After conceding three straight defeats, Bangladesh earned a massive 10-wicket victory over lowly Hong Kong in the Asian Under-15 Cricket Championship in Malaysia yesterday (Wednesday).
Called into bat first, Hong Kong was bundled out for paltry 56 runs in 38 overs at the Royal Salengor Club ground in Kuala Lumpur. None of their batsmen could reach double-digit score.
The Hong Kong team was able to cross the 50-mark with the help of 26 extra runs conceded by Bangladesh bowlers.
Mahbub Ullah, who was adjudged man of the match in the previous match against Pakistan, and Arif Hossain demolished the opposition batting line up sharing eight wickets.
Mahbub Ullah showed an outstanding bowling performance in yesterday’s match claiming three Hong Kong wickets conceding only three runs in seven overs with four maidens.
Arif Hossain also captured four wickets giving away only 10 runs in eight overs with two maidens while Shafaq and Sagar took one wicket each for nine and 10 runs respectively.
Bangladesh juveniles easily reached the winning target of 57 runs playing only 10.2 overs without losing any wicket.
Golam Rahman was unbeaten with 29 runs while his partner Hasibul Haq remained not out with 12 runs.
