Dhaka
(UNB) - BCB is yet to receive any official confirmation from their Indian
counterpart regarding Bangladesh’s invitation to play its first test match
against India in November. “We
read a news in newspaper regarding the matter but are not officially
confirmed by Indian Cricket Board so far”, BCB general secretary Syed
Ashraful Haq told newsmen yesterday (Saturday). A
foreign news agency creeded the news on Friday quoting Indian cricket chief
AC Muthaiah that India had accepted Bangladesh’s invitation. According
to the news published in several dailies yesterday, Muthaiah also told the
agency that the dates for the one-off Test at the Bangabandhu National
Stadium in Dhaka would be finalised shortly. Meanwhile,
BCB president Saber Hossain Chowdhury and its general secretary yesterday
met with Eddie Barlow, the national cricket director of development at the
BCB office. His wife Kelly Barlow was present. The
South African former test all-rounder returned Dhaka on Friday recovering
from his prolonged illness of nearly four months after he had suffered a
brain stroke late April. |
