LONDON, APR 14 (AP) - Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger said Fridayhe will release Croatian striker Davor Suker at the end of the season.
Suker joined Arsenal last summer from Real Madrid and, although he has scored 11 goals, has been used mostly as a reserve behind French striker Thierry Henry.
Suker, 32, has said he wants to stay in London and is expected to join east London Premier League team West Ham.
Wenger is expected to sign another striker this summer and isreported to be interested in Dutch star Ruud Van Nistelrooy and Liverpool's Robbie Fowler.
Suker scored six goals in the '98 World Cup finals as Croatia reached the semifinals. He reportedly took a pay cut to join Arsenal, which is believed to have paid Real Madrid only 1 million pounds (dlrs 1.6 million). |
