April 18, 2000 UNDATED, APR 17 (AP) - Trinidad and Tobago advanced Sunday to the third round of Caribbean qualifying for the 2002 World Cup along with Haiti, Cuba and Barbados. Nigel Pierre scored in the 72nd minute as Trinidad and Tobago won 1-0 at the Dominican Republic to advance on 4-0 aggregate in the home-and-home, total-goals series. Trinidad and Tobago faces Haiti, which advanced 13-0 following a 4-0 win at the Bahamas. Vladimir Edouard scored in the ninth and 50 minutes, and Gulman Pierre added goals in the 60th and 76th. Barbados beat Aruba 4-0 in the second game of their matchup Sunday night in Bridgetown, Barbados. The game was delayed for 90 minutes by an electricity outage. Barbados, which defeated Aruba in the first leg 3-1 in Aruba, will play Cuba in the next round. Cuba advanced on 1-0 aggregate following a scoreless tie at Suriname. In second-round, first-leg games Sunday, Bermuda played a scoreless tie at Antigua and Barbuda, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines beat visiting St. Kitts and Nevis 1-0 on Marlon James' goal in the 82nd minute. In Central America's first round, El Salvador (3-0) won 3-1 at Belize (0-3) in Group A and Honduras (2-1) won 1-0 at Nicaragua (0-3). Belize and Nicaragua were eliminated with the losses. El Salvador got goals from Raul Diaz Arce of Major League Soccer's Tampa Bay Mutiny in the fifth minute, from Elmer Martinez in the 51st minute and from Jorge Rodriguez in the 64th minute. Bent Burguess scored for Belize in the 66th minute Luis Ramirez scored for Honduras in the 70th minute at Diriamba.
