April 19, 2000 LONDON. APR 18 (AP) - Chelsea is facing in inquiry from the English Football Association after four of its players cornered the referee after last Saturday's crucial 1-0 loss against Sheffield Wednesday. Referee Paul Durkin awarded a penalty to Sheffield Wednesday early in the second half, which produced Wim Jonk's winning goal. Chelsea players Marcel Desailly, Emerson Thome, Didier Deschamps and Celestine Babayaro confronted referee Paul Durkin after the game and could face fines from the F.A. The incident comes just a week after the Chelsea was fined 50,000 pounds (dlrs 80,000) for failing to control its players in February in a match against Wimbledon. "Paul Durkin has referred to the an incident at the end of the game with the Chelsea players and we are going to be taking a look at the video," F.A. spokesman Adrian Bevington said.
