23, 2000 HERSHEY, Pennsylvania, APR 22 (AP) - Carlos Ruiz scored twice to lead Guatemala over Panama 2-1 Friday in the opening game of the final round of Olympic soccer qualifying from North and Central America and the Caribbean. Ruiz scored in the 27th minute off a centering pass from Freddy Garcia, but Antonio Ortega tied it with a 7-yard (6-meter) header off Manuel Torres' free kick in the 29th. Ruiz scored the game-winner in the 80th, going up the middle of the field and beating goalkeeper Oscar MacFarlane. Both teams play Mexico in their final first-round game, with Guatemala playing Sunday and Panama Tuesday. The United States, in the other group with Canada and Honduras, opened against the Hondurans later Friday. The top two teams in each group advance, and the two semifinal winners qualify for the Sydney Games. Olympic
