April 25, 2000 YAOUNDE, Cameroon, APR 24 (AP) - Cameroon defeated a young and inexperienced Somalian side 3-0 after missing a penalty in the second half of a World Cup qualifying match. Somalia, fielding a team in a Cup qualifier for the first time in nearly two decades, rarely challenged the stronger African champions, who dominated offensively throughout. Cameroon's Robert Mbah scored two goals in the 31st and 40th minutes. Three minutes after halftime, Salomon Olembe beat four defenders in an exhilarating rush and snapped the ball past Somalian goalkeeper, Abdelkadi Mohammed Hassan. Hassan, however, made numerous great saves and was again Somalia's star of the game after another 3-0 loss to Cameroon earlier in the week. Both games were played in Yaounde due to security problems in Somalia. Cameroon qualified on a 6-0 aggregate.
